The Top 5 Weight-Loss Diets of 2024, Revealed

For the majority of us, the start of a new year always feels like a pleasant fresh start. This is especially true if you have fitness, diet, wellbeing, or weight-loss goals.

The most difficult element is sometimes taking the initial step and choosing on the ideal weight-loss plan for you, because sustainability is essential.

We're here to help by sharing the 2024 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Diets rankings, specifically the top five weight-loss diets of 2024.

WeightWatchers

WeightWatchers topped U.S. News' 2024 list of greatest weight-loss diets. This diet uses a "Points" system to calculate fiber, protein, added sugar, and saturated versus unsaturated fat. WeightWatchers requires daily and weekly Points compliance.

Mediterranean

The Mediterranean diet, the 2024 best diet, is next. "It's the 7th year in a row that [the Mediterranean diet] scored the top overall spot," Schueller said. Why has the Mediterranean diet survived? It's more of a lifestyle than a diet.

Volumetrics

The third best 2024 weight-loss diet is volumetrics. This diet emphasises nutritious, low-calorie foods such vegetables, fruits, low-fat dairy, and whole grains. According to U.S. News, low-calorie foods include more water, which provides "volume" and fills you up.

Mayo Clinic

The 12-week Mayo Clinic diet promotes long-term health. You can eat well out or at home and reach your weight target. You don't need to count calories or points with this diet.

DASH

Finally, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommends the DASH diet. This diet emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean protein while limiting added sugar and saturated fat from full-fat dairy and fatty meats.
